Honolulu, HI (June 22, 2011) On Saturday, June 25th, Oahu groups will come together and join hands on our shorelines, in an effort to move America into a cleaner, greener future. Sunetric, Hawaii’s largest locally owned-and-operated solar company and the Oahu Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, an environmental nonprofit organization, are joining hands to sponsor Hawaii’s “Hands Across the Sand” on Saturday, June 25th. The free event, being held in Waikiki and open to the public, is an opportunity for all to participate to support a cleaner environment. The local event is in conjunction with the global Hands Across the Sand gathering. The event raises awareness about the dangers of offshore drilling and calls on leaders to end our oil dependence and move America toward clean energy. At noon, participants will form a line along the beach in Waikiki and join hands for 15 minutes – to say, “Yes,” to clean energy and renewables.
When: Saturday, June 25, 2011, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Noon: participants to hold hands for 15 minutes.
