Join the Surfrider Foundation, Sustainable Coastlines & BAMP on June 15th for Diamond Head Beach Cleanup & International Surfing Day
Hawaii Chapters will host beach cleanups and special events across the state to honor the “sport of kings” and Hawaii’s gift to the world. Founded by the Surfrider Foundation and SURFING Magazine, International Surfing Day unites surfers worldwide, and encourages ocean enthusiasts to join Surfrider volunteers and help protect our oceans and beaches by participating in these family-friendly events. ISD started in 2005 with only 16 domestic and one international location and has since exploded to more than 200 events in 30 countries.
When: This Saturday, June 15th at 9:30am
Where: Diamond Head Beach
9:30am-10am Karma Yoga (the yoga of action) by Green Girl Yoga, http://www.greengirlyoga.com/
10am - noon Diamond Head Beach Cleanup
noon: Lunch (to be provided)
In addition to the yoga, lunch and prizes, we will be giving away tickets to BAMP’s concert with Damian Marley on Sat. night.
Please note: There is limited parking, so please leave some spaces for the surfers and do your best to walk, bus, bike or carpool to the beach cleanup! Please bring shoes too if you want to do some adventurous cliff cleaning!
The Chapter will also set up a Surfrider table at Whole Foods Kahala on Thur., 6/20, 12:00-7:00pm with contests, prizes and special 1-day membership gifts. For more info, go to Oahu.Surfrider.org.
