Get involved with Surfrider Oahu! Join us this Wednesday, June 4th at Paki Hale, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The Paki Hale is located at 3840 Paki Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815. We will be reviewing our upcoming events, beach cleanups, and upcoming legislative efforts.
This month, our special guest is Dolan Eversole, he is NOAA's Sea Grant Coastal Storms Program Coordinator. He will be sharing with us the state of coastal zone management, current issues at Rocky Point, Waikiki coastal management, and insight on last session's HB3036, which addresses funding for costal zone research and management. He works with UH Sea Grant and is one the two most knowledgeable people in our area on coastal erosion, setbacks and policy. He is also a long time Surfrider member and has contributed to our chapter throughout the years.

Email your City Council Member a voice your support for Bill 40, a Bill to ban food vendors from the use of any polystyrene foam containers (aka Styrofoam). The Bill requires that all disposable food service containers must be made of compostable material that will break down into usable compost in a safe and timely manner without leaving any toxic residue.
