First Surfrider Chapter Meeting of the Year this Wednesday!

Join Surfrider Oahu for our first Chapter meeting of the year, this Wednesday, February 2nd! The Oahu Chapter is excited for new beginnings in 2011, including a new meeting location. We will be meeting   at 2419 Ferdinand Ave, Honolulu, HI, 96822 (which is in the Manoa area). The meeting will be held from 7pm to 9pm and is potluck style so bring a dish or drink to share with everyone. We will be discussing topics that include our upcoming Hawaii Chapter Conference, our involvement with the Kyo-Ya Development issue, the Haleiwa Beach Park development, the International Marine Debris conference, and our upcoming beach cleanups.

If one of your new year's resolutions is to get more involved with your community and help protect our beaches and oceans then come to our next meeting and see how you can help.

The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world's oceans, waves and beaches through Conservation, Activism, Research and Education (CARE).   Originally founded in 1984 by a group of visionary surfers, the Surfrider Foundation is now in its 26th year and has grown to more than 50 chapters and 70,000 members.  The Oahu Chapter has been busy working on issues of beach access, water quality, coastal preservation and plastic marine debris.
