Oʻahu Visitor Fee

On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the City and County of Honolulu passed Bill 40 that allocates money from the County Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) to beaches, parks, and natural resources. Of the 3% TAT, 0.25% is allocated for natural resources, which translates into an additional $7 million per year for the Countyʻs Department of Parks. This additional money will allow our City parks department to receive millions more dollars to both mitigate the impact of visitors on our beaches and parks and to make our coastlines and island more sustainable and resilient. The new County TAT is a 3% total hotel tax that is additional to the State's 10.25% hotel tax.
