I Take The Pledge: Only #ReefFriendly Sunscreens

Our Amazing partners and sponsors of the Hawai‘i Chapter network, All Good, are asking us to help encourage people to take the pledge. The cornerstone of this campaign is taking the #ReefFriendly sunscreen pledge. The pledge is a simple action with important impacts as participants are asked to share their pledge with their social networks, to support policy efforts to encourage the use of #ReefFriendly sunscreens and to make the personal commitment to use #ReefFriendly sunscreens whenever possible.

Background on this Partnership:

All Good Becomes the Sunscreen Partner of Surfrider Foundation’s Five Hawai’i Chapters

Morro Bay, CA (June 15, 2017)All Good—makers of organic skincare and reef friendly sunscreens—is excited to announce their official sunscreen partnership with all five of the Surfrider Foundation’s Hawai’i Chapters. They will launch the partnership on International Surfing Day, Saturday, June 17, at the Oahu Chapter’s annual Beach Cleanup at Diamondhead Lookout in Honolulu from 9:30-11:30am.  In addition to sponsorship, each chapter— Surfrider Kauai, Surfrider O’ahu, Surfrider Maui, Surfrider Kona Kai Ea and Surfrider Hilo—will receive a yearly supply of reef friendly All Good sunscreens for volunteers who help with cleanup efforts.

“We are excited to work with All Good, a company dedicated to raising awareness and increasing support for the protection and restoration of fragile reef ecosystems,” said Stuart Coleman, Hawai’i Regional Manager of the Surfrider Foundation. “All Good’s company integrity aligns with Surfrider’s commitment to preserve the natural diversity and ecological integrity of the coastal environment.”

“Every year thousands of tons of chemical sunscreens contribute to the death of coal reefs and threaten sea life,” said All Good’s VP of Sales & Marketing Ryan Rich. “All Good’s partnership with Surfrider Hawai’i reinforces our commitment to serve the people and coral reef populations in Hawai’i. We are stoked to work with these five Surfrider Chapters to educate consumers about reef friendly sunscreens and why they should avoid toxic chemicals found in personal care products.”
